Saturday, May 3, 2014, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Election Judge Certification Class at the training facility of the Bexar County Elections Department.
After being trained about the election laws, procedures, and voting equipment, you can be appointed as a presiding election judge or an alternate election judge. An election judge plays a very important role in the election process. Election judges work as a team to ensure a fair and accessible election. Election judges are trained before election day. They report about one hour before the polls open at 7:00 a.m. on Election Day and serve until all duties are completed after the polls close at 7:00 p.m.
Why should you be an election judge?
- You get paid
- You help voters as a community service
- You are involved in the election process
